Description
Model 2001 Flow Switch Overview
The Model 2001 Flow Switch is an in-line piston flow switch manufactured by Thomas Products, Ltd. It is designed with a small footprint of 4 inches in length, and has enhanced design features including drop-forged and investment cast components, making it a rugged and dependable flow switch. The switch is made of brass, 316 SST, and Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) materials and is equipped with a piston, spring, O-ring, and reed switch. The operating temperature range is between -20º F to 275ºF (-29ºC to 135ºC) and the operating pressure is 1500 PSIG. The set point accuracy is 10% maximum and the set point differential is 20% maximum. The repeatability of the switch is 1% maximum. The switch wire is 22 AWG, 24” long and made of polymeric material. The switch is rated for 20 watts and is a SPST switch. It is compliant with stringent guidelines for potable water use and is suitable for various industrial applications including cooling and heating, HVAC equipment, machine tool industry, potable water, lubrication systems, and water heaters.
The Model 2001 flow switch assembly contains a housing, piston, spring, and o-ring. The switch is rated for maximum resistive load of 20 VA and can be used with a pilot voltage of 120-240 VAC. The switch has an operating temperature range of -20°F to 275°F and an operating pressure of up to 1500 PSIG. The reed switch is normally open at no flow. The Model 280 Orifice Flow Module is recommended for sensitive applications. The typical 1 GPM set point has a pressure drop of 1 PSI at about 4 GPM of water flow. The switch is available in brass or 316 SST materials. Other wetted materials of the Model 2001 flow switch include epoxy. All information on the Model 2001 can be found in the catalog sheet below.
